Painting Tutorial Part 2: How to Paint the Red Areas

Painting Tutorial Part 2: The Red Areas

For painting the red areas of the Necrons you will need the following citadel Paints:  Korne Red, Carroberg Crimsion, Wazdakka Red, and Squid Orange

I undercoat all my models in Chaos Black Spray Paint before I paint them.

Step 1: Paint the area with a solid coat of Korne Red.  I like to water the base paints paints down a little bit but not a lot because of how thick they are.  When you water the paint down it will give you a smoother coat of paint. However you might have to apply more then one layer because the paint will not cover as well.

Step 2: Wash the Area with Carroberg Crimsion.

Step 3: Apply another coat of Korne Red.  You do not get the paint in the resesses because you want thoses areas to be darker. You should also water down the Korne Red alittle bit again.

Step 4: Use Wazdakka Red to line hightlight all of the edges.

Step 5:  Use Squid Orange to add another layer of line hightlights.  You want the highlights to not be as thick as the ones you make with the Wazdakka Red.  I also did not hight light all the areas that I did with the Wazdakka Red when you do this stage Imagine a light shinning down on the model from the top and only highlight the edges that would receive the light.
